Join us for a special evening of exceptional food and great company at Pichet, Dublin’s renowned dining destination, as we host a very special ‘Friends of Pichet’ event featuring the incredible guest chef, JP McMahon.

Chef McMahon, a champion of Irish cuisine and culinary innovation, will present a bespoke tasting menu that showcases his passion for local, sustainable ingredients, bringing together modern techniques with traditional flavours. The evening will offer a unique opportunity to indulge in a curated selection of dishes, each crafted with care and flair.

The event will be an intimate experience, providing an opportunity to interact with Chef JP McMahon as he explains his inspirations and techniques behind each dish. With his expertise and distinctive culinary style, you’ll be treated to an unforgettable evening filled with flavours, creativity, and camaraderie.

Tickets are €80 for a food only 5 course experience with an additional €40 for drink pairings.

Note: due to the nature of this event, our menu is unable to cater for allergies as well as vegetarian and vegan options on this tasting menu, all other dietary requirements can be amended upon request.

 

About Chef JP McMahon:

Chef JP McMahon is one of Ireland’s most celebrated chefs, known for his pioneering approach to Irish cuisine. Based in Galway, he is Chef-Patron of Spanish tapas restaurant, Cava Bodega and of Aniar Restaurant, a Michelin-starred venue that champions Irish terroir and sustainable, locally-sourced ingredients. With a focus on showcasing Ireland’s diverse and rich food culture, McMahon is dedicated to bringing attention to the country’s native ingredients, creating dishes that are rooted in tradition but with a contemporary twist.

In addition to his culinary achievements, JP McMahon is a passionate advocate for Irish food and has contributed to the broader food scene through his writing, television appearances, and active participation in food festivals and events. His dedication to high-quality, Irish-grown produce, combined with his flair for storytelling through food, has earned him widespread recognition and respect in the culinary world.

About Aniar:

Aniar is a Michelin Starred restaurant located in Galway’s West End. Our food comes from the specific place that is the west of Ireland. We hope to reveal the distinct and various foodstuffs that make up our particular landscape, through our farms, the wild lands and the shores that surround us. The natural course of the seasons dictates our ever-changing and evolving menu. The kitchen is led by chef patron JP McMahon. Alongside using wild and foraged local ingredients, JP likes to foster old traditional cooking and preservation methods, such as curing, pickling, smoking and fermenting. His aim is to look back in order to look forward: to the future of Irish food. It is only by understanding our culinary past that we can unlock the untapped resources of our future. Aniar also runs a Boutique Cookery School. The School offers one-day workshops as well as six-week classes. The classes run by JP McMahon offers hands-on experience.

Join us as we invite guest Chefs to Pichet for a special bespoke menu for one night only. Previous guests include Anna Haugh ( Bob Ricard, Hell’s Kitchen USA), Mark Moriarty (The Greenhouse), Eric Matthews (previously Chapter One, now Kicky’s), Jess Murphy (Kai Galway) and Andy McFadden (Glovers Alley).
